Best Roomba Robot Vacuums and Mopses

If you are interested in the concept of robots that vacuum and mops without getting your rugs wet, consider the impressive Dreamebot Braava jet M6. This robot uses advanced mapping, which is similar to that of the iRobot the s9 or i7+. It can save a cleaning schedule that you can personalize.

IRobot 1

The iRobot i1 is an entry-level robot vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It can be controlled via the iRobot App or voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It's less expensive than higher-end Roomba models, such as the i8+, j7+ or s9+. It has many of the same features but does not have the Advanced iRobot Roomba j7+: Vacuum and Mop Combo (Continued) navigation that those more expensive models provide.

It does a good job cleaning bare floors but not so much on carpeting. It is a fantastic cleaner on laminate and tile flooring however, and it has a special cleaning head that is designed to fit into corners. It can be programmed to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, and allows the creation of virtual boundaries to stop it from entering rooms you don't want it to.

The i1 also has a self-emptying compartment for dirt and dust, meaning you don't need to manually empty it each time the space runs out. It's simple to maintain, however you have to clean its brushes each week. Its vSLAM navigation utilizes cameras instead of laser sensors. This means it takes longer to map rooms and cannot detect furniture as well as the more expensive Roomba model.

If you do have a problem with your iRobot, the company provides replacement parts for free and other support for a year if you sign-up for its iRobot Select membership. The plan comes with a few limitations. It doesn't cover theft, mysterious disappearance or the loss of your device.

iRobot I7+

The i7+ is more impressive than the Roomba at cleaning a floor. While the less expensive Roomba 690 and Eufy RoboVac 11s bounce around like pool balls moving from one end of the room to the next and sometimes getting stuck under furniture, the i7+ works in a logical, methodical way. It begins by vacuuming in rows across the floor, then moves along the edges of rooms. It will stop when the battery runs out or the dirt bin is full and then resume work where it left off when recharged. It also keeps a recurrent map of a room. This means that if you alter the layout or move furniture the i7+ can adjust its map for the next time.

The i7+ can be controlled remotely via the iRobot Home App, without needing to be physically present. You can schedule cleaning sessions for specific rooms, or set up virtual boundaries to keep the Roomba out of certain areas. You can also view the battery level and status of a Roomba as well as its history of cleaning tasks.

The i7+ costs more than the 981 but offers superior performance on flooring that is not bare and a bigger dustbin and the capability to automatically empty the dirt compartment into the larger dirtbag that is built-in in its charging dock. The irobot robot vacuum also feels better-built and has a longer battery life, and charges faster than the Shark. The i7+ is also able to remove more debris from low pile carpets and you can set up virtual barrier line with the iRobot Home App. The i7+ isn't the best robot vacuum for pet owners or people with hair that is long, however. The brushes that sweep it can get tangled up with hair, and you'll have to flip the i7+ over and clean out its moving parts at times and it can get more than a little messy.

iRobot s9+

The iRobot S9+, or Baby Rocky as my 3-year-old calls it, is a fantastic robot vacuum that does a great job cleaning on bare floors. It clears away a mix of types of debris and has the strongest suction we've seen in a consumer-grade robot. It feels quite premium and has a long battery life, which allows it to clean a large room without running out of power.

It utilizes iAdapt 3.0 Navigation using vSLAM which helps it easily learn the structure of your home and builds personal Smart Maps that enable it to efficiently navigate in neat rows. It also automatically cleans using Imprint Link technology after vacuuming. It's the only iRobot robot with the D-shaped body of the robot. This allows it to reach closer to corners and edges as opposed to round robots like the Neato Botvac D7.

We found it to be more intuitive than the previous models and a breeze to use. It can be used with voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant and has a range of settings that can be customized that allow you to alter the strength of its Revolutionize Cleaning with iRobot Roomba i3+. The iRobot app also lets you create an inventory of rooms you want it to clean, which can be helpful when you need the robot to focus on a specific area.

Our only complaint about the S9 is that it can occasionally run over things such as power cords and toy string. It's also loud when vacuuming, and it occasionally gets stuck on bigger obstacles, such as couches legs. It never lost power during cleaning and quickly returned to its dock to forcefully clean the dirt into a storage container. The self-docking feature and cleaning function is a big step up from earlier iRobots that required manual emptying after every use.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

With a mobile application and integration with Alexa and Google Assistant the process of starting a cleaning session on the Dreametech L10s Ultra is as simple as tapping your smartphone screen or giving a voice command. Physical controls on the robot are not as extensive and functions are only accessible via the app as well as a few buttons, including a quit button that causes the robot to leave its base station and a clean button that starts a general cleaning cycle.

Privacy is a major concern for some people however we didn't experience any major issues with the Dreametech L10s Ultra's camera. The privacy policy of the company is clear that they don't store any images from your camera. You can turn off object avoidance and room recognition in the app if you don't wish to use these features.

5. Eufy 11S

The Eufy 11S is a minimalist robot vacuum that efficiently removes fine dust and large debris from hard floors. It's ideal for everyday cleaning, but it's not very efficient in cleaning corners or edges. It's easy to use using a remote control and features multiple automated cleaning modes. However, it doesn't include an app, which means you aren't able to create virtual barriers, monitor the life of the accessory or check your cleaning history. The 11S is an excellent option for those looking for an affordable, basic and hassle-free robot.

The 11S has a small height of 7.2 cm that means it can fit under furniture that is low and can get over doorsteps with ease. It has large and stable wheels that enable it to effortlessly handle carpets and large pile rugs. The dirt compartment is larger than other models, meaning it has to be emptied less often. The remote has a range of settings, including various power modes and automated schedules. The 11S also has a manual edge cleaning mode and a spot cleaner. The 11S can also be tied to its docking station using an included zip tie.

Compared to the ILIFE A4s, the RoboVac 11S is superior in removing pet hair from floors and is less prone to large debris. It is also easier to maintain, more durable, and has lower costs for recurring maintenance. It provides superior performance across all kinds of floors. It has a long-lasting battery and is more convenient for you to maneuver. It doesn't come with an intelligent-pathing feature however it comes with a variety of other features like an automatic emptying of the dust bin and directional remote. It also features an advanced HEPA filter system and an allergen-trapping filter system in comparison to the ILIFE a4s.
